Every food, supplement and beverage have an acid or alkaline characteristic. pH (potential Hydrogen) is measured on a pH scale of 0-14, with 0 the most acidic and 14 the most alkaline (basic). Unfortunately, life in the United States can be extremely acidic.
When it comes to food, we have way too much information and very little education. We think we can out-supplement a bad diet and we eat nutrients when we should be eating food.
