There are so many more benefits to exercise than just weight loss–it’s the way it makes you feel that is so great. If we think of exercise as a chore, work or something we have to do to lose weight, it probably won’t be very fun to stick with.
But if we think about exercise as daily movement and something that makes us feel good—it’s the benefits that will have us coming back for more.
Whatever behavior you choose, you should be able to maintain it. Don’t start a new program or join a new gym if you can’t maintain it long term. Find ways to move that are fun and enjoyable.
Think of movement as compound interest and start doing a little bit every day. After all, it’s the small steps that lead to big results!
